Open Short Story Competition
This competition is open to anyone, of all ages and levels of experience. Stories can be up to 4,000 words written in any style and on any subject providing it is clean and non offensive.
First, second and third manuscripts will receive guaranteed publishing contracts but all the best entries will have the chance to be offered one too.
You can have a look at the winning manuscripts of 2009 which have now been published here.
We believe that writing talent starts young and love to see children having fun writing! The standard of entries has been excellent in our past competitions with very imaginative stories and we are looking forward to reading more this year. If you know a budding young author up to the age of 14, why not tell them about the competition? Stories can be up to 3,000 words on any subject or theme.
I (Stephanie) have entered the Sunpenny young writers competition and won previously, which inspired me in my writing so I would really like to encourage young writers to pick up their pens.
Please visit the link to information on each competition in he heading on our website to find out about each competition in more detail including more guidelines, entry fees, prizes and tips for formatting. What are you waiting for? Get writing!
